Dental Implant

A dental implant is a metal post that is surgically placed in the jawbone and replaces the roots of missing teeth.  Implants can support single crowns, bridges and dentures.

Dentures - Complete & Partial

Dentures are replacements for missing teeth.  Complete dentures replace all teeth while partial dentures replace some teeth.  Dental implants can improve the stability of both partial and complete dentures.

Full Mouth Reconstruction

Full mouth reconstruction refers to the replacement or rebuilding of all the teeth in a patient’s mouth.  The goal of full mouth reconstruction is to restore the function, health and esthetics of the mouth.

Same Day Crown

A same day crown is a crown that can be fabricated in one day as opposed to a traditional crown that requires two appointments.  A tooth is prepared for a crown and then a digital impression is made. Through the use of CAD/CAM technology, a crown is digitally rendered and then milled.  A same day crown eliminates the need for an impression and a temporary.

What is a Prosthodontist?

A prosthodontist is a dentist who has completed dental school plus three additional years of advanced training and education in an ADA-accredited prosthodontics program.  They specialize in treating and handling dental and facial problems that involve restoring missing teeth and jaw structures.  A prosthodontist is highly trained in cosmetics, dental implants, crowns, bridges and dentures.

What is a Board Certified Prosthodontist?

A Board Certified Prosthodontist has passed a rigorous four-part examination conducted by the American Board of Prosthodontics (www.abpros.org).  He or she must re-certify every eight years to ensure updated knowledge of practices that affect the specialty.  Only a small percentage of prosthodontists are board certified.
